AACHEN (dpa-AFX) - The Aachen Administrative Court on Wednesday rejected two further urgent applications against the ban on the stay in the lignite village of Lützerath. The court classified the corresponding general order of the district of Heinsberg as "presumably lawful", as already in the previous week, as the court announced on Wednesday. The legal basis was the police and regulatory law.

The first decision from Aachen was already confirmed on Monday by the Higher Administrative Court for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, based in Münster. The entry of Lützerath could not be justified with reference to civil disobedience as a result of a climate emergency. Appeals against the current decisions are again possible to the Higher Administrative Court.

According to the administrative court, the climate activists have filed further urgent applications. This concerns the right of assembly and the holding of a vigil./lic/DP/mis
