Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras (BOVESPA:PETR4) is reported to have revised its disinvestment strategy and could now be ready to relinquish control of companies or sell 100% of companies, rather than just minority shares as initially planned. The change follows continued difficulties in finding buyers for the majority of assets and will only apply to areas outside of the main oil exploration, production and refinery operations. One of the main areas affected by the change is the company's thermoelectric plant operations, with the company having initially planned to sell minority shares in the 20 plants it operates.

Due to lack of interest in the offer, Petrobras is considering selling off between five and eight entire plants, rather than just minority shares.
