(Alliance News) - Iren Spa made it known Friday that Gianluca Riu has resigned from his role as CEO of Amiat given the organizational reorganization that identified him as a pivotal figure for the delicate preparatory phase for the closing of the acquisition of Egea, Alba's multi-utility, scheduled for the coming months, as well as for the subsequent phase of integration into the Iren Group.

Iren Ambiente has therefore indicated Enrico Clara as its appointed director who will be co-opted by the Amiat board of directors by early June. Clara, Iren points out in a statement, will be given the powers of CEO of Amiat.

Iren gives up 0.7 percent to EUR1.82 per share.
