sMedio, Inc. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter ended June 2020. For the period, the company reported net sales of JPY 482 million against JPY 437 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 46 million against operating loss of JPY 69 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 27 million against loss of JPY 70 million a year ago. Earnings per share was JPY 14.57 against loss per share of JPY 37.56 a year ago.

The Software business segment is engaged in personal computer/digital home appliance integration, artificial intelligence (AI) video analysis, security & privacy software, and Internet of Things (IoT) solution businesses. The personal computer/digital home appliance integration business integrates video (4K/8K), audio playback, and browser display software into customer products. The AI video analysis business provides video analysis services using AI to customers in the construction industry. The security & privacy software business develops contracted software and produces data migration and backup applications for customers in the telecommunications industry. The IoT solution business combines sensors and gateway devices to provide services such as data management in the cloud.
