On January 5, Vietnam's telecommunication operators restored full capacity shortage by AAG Asia America Gate) incident.

According to the latest information from AAG Management Board, at 22h30 on January 4, the repair of broken cable off Vietnam's coast was completed while capacity was restored. It was expected that the final stages of repair would be implemented within next 24 hours.

In the afternoon of December 20, that AAG connecting Vung Tau and Hong Kong was cut affected the Internet traffic of the Vietnamese Internet service providers including FPT Telecom.

FPT Telecom has continuously expanded international bandwidth to increase capacity for customer s' use and limit impacts when one of international connections is in trouble .

FPT Telecom is working closely with those in charge of managing the AAG to keep its users updated. It will also resume connection as soon as the disruption is solved.

The AAG has been encountered frequent breaks and outages since its ready for service in late 2009. The cable is a 20,000-kilometre long submarine communications cable system, connecting Southeast Asia with the USA mainland. In Vietnam, it lies on the Vung Tau coast.
