Formosa Taffeta Co., Ltd. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was TWD 6,443.074 million compared to TWD 10,067.893 million a year ago. Operating income was TWD 50.966 million compared to TWD 433.811 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 1,282.792 million compared to TWD 2,235.182 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 0.76 compared to TWD 1.12 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was TWD 0.76 compared to TWD 1.33 a year ago. For the half year, sales was TWD 15,032.010 million compared to TWD 19,588.937 million a year ago. Operating income was TWD 422.901 million compared to TWD 831.268 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 1,637.132 million compared to TWD 2,659.627 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 0.97 compared to TWD 1.22 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was TWD 0.97 compared to TWD 1.58 a year ago.
Formosa Taffeta Co Ltd is a Taiwan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of textile products, as well as the operation of gas stations. The weaving business, dyeing business and works business are engaged in the provision of blended fabrics, staple fiber fabrics, long and short woven fabrics, polyamine and polyester fabrics, and various plain woven fabrics. The cords business and industrial materials business are engaged in the provision of polyamine and polyester tire cords, pure cotton yarns, blended yarns, functional yarns, special protective yarns and fabrics, medical care fabrics, bulletproof fabrics, carbon fiber fabrics, composite fabrics and plastic bags. The oil products business is engaged in the operation of gas stations to sell gasoline, diesel and kerosene products, and the provision of car wash services. The formosa technology business is engaged in the assembly, testing, module processing, research and development of various integrated circuits.
