Edesur reported earnings results for the full year of 2013. For the year, the com pany posted a profit of ARS 1.161 billion for 2013 against an ARS 801.6 million loss in 2012 due to remuneration for costs incurred since 2007. The government acknowledged higher costs incurred between May 2007 and February 2013 and from March to September 2013.

Thus, Edesur registered operating revenues of ARS 2.769 billion, including ARS 1.952 billion from previous years plus interests of ARS 308.1 million. Without the adjustment, the company would have posted an operating loss of ARS 667.5 million which shows that revenues from the tariff are insufficient to meet the continuous growth in costs, it said. The company invested record-high ARS 1.064 billion in grid expansion and improvements.
