BONN (dpa-AFX) - After a three-day warning strike, the postal service is working to deliver three million broken-down letters and one million parcels. They will deliver these items by Tuesday evening at the latest, a Post spokesman said Monday morning in Bonn. "Since such industrial action has also taken place from time to time in previous years, there are well-rehearsed processes in place to clear backlogs accumulated as a result as quickly as possible." Verdi had been striking mail and parcel centers from Thursday to Saturday. The union is demanding 15 percent more money for 160,000 domestic employees in collective bargaining. For the Post, that is far too much./wdw/DP/mis
