MUNICH (dpa-AFX) - BMW has reported that it further reduced the CO2 emissions of its new car fleet in the EU last year and fell below the targets. According to internal calculations, fleet emissions fell by three percent to 102.1 grams per kilometer. They thus remained well below the limit value of 128.5 grams, as the car manufacturer announced in Munich on Tuesday.

The main driver was the increasing proportion of e-cars. The further development of conventional drive systems also contributed to this. By 2030, BMW plans to reduce total CO2 emissions by at least 40 percent per vehicle compared to 2019./rol/DP/stw
