Arkema's (Paris:AKE) Combined Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meeting, chaired by Thierry Le Hénaff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, was held at the Palais des Congrès, Paris, on Monday June 15th 2009, with some 500 people in attendance.

The shareholders, representing 69,50% of the voting rights, adopted all the resolutions proposed at the Meeting. In particular they approved the 2008 financial statements and the distribution of a € 0.60 dividend per share. The dividend, to be paid on June 22nd 2009, is in line with the evolution of Arkema's results, and is intended to involve Arkema's shareholders in the Company's transformation.

The General Meeting renewed the directors' mandates of Messrs Thierry Le Hénaff, François Enaud, Bernard Kasriel, Laurent Mignon, Thierry Morin, Jean-Pierre Seeuws, Tidjane Thiam, and Philippe Vassor. The shareholders also approved the appointment of Mr Marc Pandraud as a new director. Arkema's Board of Directors now comprises nine directors with a broad range of first-rate and highly complementary skills and experiences, seven of whom are independent.

At the close of the General Meeting, the Board of Directors renewed the mandate of Mr Thierry Le Hénaff as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arkema.
