Only three Spanish companies are on the list of the world's most sustainable suppliers.
ACCIONA's commitment to the reduction of carbon emissions has been acknowledged by its inclusion in the CDP Supplier Climate Performance Leadership Index, an indicator that brings together the world's 80 most sustainable products and services suppliers. This new index, the first of its kind by compiled by CDP (one of the world's leading corporate environment data and information suppliers), recognizes the excellence of companies as suppliers of products and services based on low carbon emissions business models.
To compile it, CDP evaluated 2,868 companies which returned the CDP Supply Chain 2013 questionnaire. The CDP Supplier Climate Performance Leadership Index includes only companies that obtain an "A" (maximum) rating. Only three Spanish companies obtained the maximum "A" rating in this first Sustainable Suppliers Index.
ACCIONA's inclusion in the CDP's index confirms its standing as a supplier of products and services based on a sustainability-based business model to private- and public-sector clients, with an overall vision that includes the supply chain. Sustainability credentials are fast-becoming a major requirement in national and international tenders and feature in an increasing number of tenders as a factor to be taken into consideration.
In 2013, ACCIONA also continued to be a component of the Iberia 125 Climate Performance Leadership performance index and the Climate Disclosure Leadership index: in the former index ACCIONA consolidated its "A" (maximum) rating for the third year in a row, and in the latter the Company scored 97/100 and obtained a special CDP award as one of the four best-performing Spanish companies in the fight on climate change.
