Voltalia announces that it has signed a framework agreement with its partner Taqa Arabia, during the Egypt-EU 2024 Investment Conference in Cairo, to further develop a complex combining the production of renewable energy and green hydrogen in Egypt.

This framework agreement follows on from the protocol signed in December 2022 for this project will be implemented in two identical phases, each comprising a 500-megawatt electrolyzer powered by over 1.3 gigawatts of solar and wind energy.

The facility will have an annual production capacity in excess of 350,000 tonnes of hydrogen for each phase. It will be located on a greenfield site near the port of Ain Sokhna, in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
