This world first gives Volkswagen cause for optimism as the company looks ahead to 2017. The new Golf is about to take centre stage in Wolfsburg - a car that is more intelligent, safer, and better connected than ever before. For the first time in the compact class, the optional premium Discover Pro Infotainment system can be controlled with gestures. For example, simply swipe your hand across it to change the radio station. The menu control is now even more intuitive. The optional Active Info Display complements the navigation system perfectly. The digital dash panel features a range of information profiles. For example, the Discover Pro map view can be displayed directly in the driver's field of view.

The new Golf also takes a giant leap forward in terms of partly automated driving. The Traffic Jam Assist combines the functionalities of the lane departure warning system with the adaptive cruise control (all three systems can be ordered as optional equipment). This enables the system to steer, brake and accelerate the Volkswagen in driving situations with stop-and-go traffic.

Please note that the equipment listed here may not be available as part of the standard equipment in some countries. Not all equipment mentioned here is available in every country and for every equipment variant.
