Voice Assist, Inc. announced that it has filed a patent application for its Next Generation Home Phone Service. The company currently provides a safe driving application that lets drivers use voice commands from their mobile phone to make calls, listen to email, read email, reply to email, send text messages, receive text messages and post to social networks by voice without typing. The user interface was optimized for safe driving with the ability to issue command after command without the need to hold the phone or press buttons repeatedly.

When consumers dial zero the technology reroutes the subscriber to a voice activated assistant while preloading contacts, email, social networks and more into the grammar so the voice assistant is ready to understand each subscriber's unique contacts and data communication preferences. Subscribers using a standard analog phone will soon be able to use voice commands to dial by name, listen to email, reply to email, send email, send or receive text messages or even post to social networks all by using voice without typing. Analog home phones were only used to make calls, but with this new technology they can be used as a voice activated terminal to communicate by voice or data.

The patent application also incorporates "conversational search(TM)" that will allow consumers to order pizza, order groceries, make travel reservations, check the weather, or search the web for nearly any information by having a conversation with a voice activated assistant.
