The Le Croult and Le Petit Rosne valleys (Val d'Oise) intermunicipal association for water management (SIAH) has chosen Veolia to extend and bring up to standard the Bonneuil-en- France wastewater treatment plant. This ten-year contract will in particular increase the plant's treatment capacity from 350,000 to 500,000 Population Equivalent (PE).
The SIAH is composed of 33 municipalities and an urban area located in the eastern side of Val d'Oise. It has just awarded Veolia the design-build-operation-maintenance of the extension and modernization of its Bonneuil-en-France wastewater treatment plant. With its new management responsibilities for managing collection networks, aquatic environments, flood prevention, and wastewater not connected to a municipal network, the SIAH coordinates a considerable number of projects which require an increase in its wastewater treatment capabilities.
This industrial ecology project - called Morée Énergie Eau' (Moree Water Energy) - meets all the performance, sustainability and environmental quality requirements. It benefits from Veolia's latest technological advances: the HYBAS ™ biological wastewater treatment, which combines the activated sludge process with MBBR ™ filtering, and reduces costs. Sludge treatment by thermal hydrolysis and digestion increases the volume of biogas generated while reducing the quantity of sludge then recovered by composting.
The biogas (biomethane) produced will be reinjected into the French natural gas distribution network (GRDF), and the heat recovered from the wastewater will heat the offices and the technical buildings. The new station of Bonneuil-en-France will be operational mid 2022.
