V-Mart Retail Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was INR 5,061.59 million compared to INR 3,379.74 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 5,088.14 million compared to INR 3,420.39 million a year ago. Net loss was INR 113.14 million compared to INR 141.45 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was INR 5.73 compared to INR 7.05 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was INR 10,940.43 million compared to INR 5,153.84 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 11,007.84 million compared to INR 5,239.55 million a year ago. Net income was INR 91.39 million compared to net loss of INR 428.59 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 4.62 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of INR 21.62 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 4.61 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of INR 21.62 a year ago.
V-Mart Retail Limited is an India-based retail store chain that offers readymade garments and accessories. The Company operates through two segments: Retail Trade, and Digital Marketplace. The Retail Trade segment is engaged in domestic sales to customers at stores. Digital Marketplace is engaged in the commission and other income by providing a Limeroad platform for vendors. It provides a range of apparel and accessories for men, women, boys, girls, and toddlers. Its general merchandise includes footwear, home furnishings, kitchenware, toys and games, bags and luggage, and crockery. Its Kirana bazaar includes fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products, packaged food items, beauty, and personal care, home care, and staple products. It operates through approximately 423 stores across 26 states. Its stores are located in states/cities, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal.
