Klaus Keysberg has decided not to stand for an extension of his contract, which runs until July 31, 2024, the company announced on Wednesday evening. Keysberg has held various management positions within the Group for almost 28 years. The Personnel Committee of the Supervisory Board has already started the usual search process in order to be able to propose a successor solution to the Supervisory Board as soon as possible. The new Thyssenkrupp CEO Miguel Lopez had announced in August that he wanted to trim the faltering industrial group for profitability. In doing so, job cuts could not be ruled out. The industrial group earned significantly less in the third quarter due to weakening business in steel and materials trading.
