The GME (Groupement Momentané d'Entreprises), comprising NSE, Safran Electronics & Defense, Sofema and Thales, has won the MERCURE contract from the SIMMT (Structure intégrée du maintien en condition opérationnelle des matériels terrestres), announces NSE.
Worth a maximum of almost 300 million euros (excluding VAT) over a 7-year period, this contract will enable the Ministry of the Armed Forces to meet the challenges of managing the wide diversity of its equipment requirements for the armed forces, and the need to acquire equipment in a responsive and flexible way.
The solution provided by the GME coordinated by NSE fully meets these challenges, by bringing together the strong, recognized expertise of French manufacturers and distributors who are leaders in their sectors", states the NSE press release.

Thales is one of the European leaders in manufacturing and marketing of electronic equipment and systems for the defense and security, aerospace, and transportation sectors. Net sales break down by product group as follows:
- defense and security systems (53.4%): C4I defense and security systems (control and monitoring systems, communication, protection, cyber-security, and other systems), defense mission systems, naval systems, electronic war systems, drones, air operation systems (air defense, air surveillance), ground defense systems and missiles;
