Acquire certification for information security management system (ISMS) based on international standards

in the functional films business

TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable Co., Ltd. ("we"; President and Chief Executive Officer: Hiroya Yamada) is pleased to announce that on January 7, 2023, TATSUTA Electric Wire and Cable Co., Ltd. acquired Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification based on ISO27001 of International Standards for our functional films business, which holds an overwhelming global market share.

In order to fulfill our mission of providing a stable supply of products to customers, in July 2016, our functional films business acquired Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) certification based on ISO22301:2012 of international standards (reacquired certification in ISO22301:2019 in July 2022). To address information security risks, we have formulated a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) assuming information system failures, including cyber-attacks.

In response the threat of cyber-attacks such as ransomware and malware has increased in recent years, we have reviewed BCP related to information system failures to minimize the impact of operational failures even in the event of system failures, and in order to continuously maintain and strengthen information security for information we manage, we have recently established an information security management system in the functional films business and obtained third-party certification.

We will continue to work to improve and enhance information security by establishing and operating a robust information security management system to ensure a stable supply of products to our customers and fulfill our social responsibilities.
