Standard Chartered has appointed Manpreet Gill as chief investment officer for the EMEA region. Gill, who is based in Dubai, will take on new responsibilities in addition to his current role as head of the CIO office's fixed income, currency and commodity strategy. He will now be responsible for the CIO office coverage and capabilities and continues to report to Steve Brice, group chief investment officer.

Gill started at the firm in 2011 and previously worked as an Asia strategist at Barclays Wealth, while also having been an economist and FX strategist at ICICI Bank. He is currently a member of the Standard Chartered group's investment committee, co-chair of the India investment committee and adviser to the discretionary portfolio managers.
