On Thursday, Spie announced that it had implemented a digital solution for the German energy supplier infra, enabling the automation of grid connection processes, including request management.

To this end, the engineering group and its partner Mettenmeier have developed software entirely dedicated to the supply of electricity, natural gas, drinking water and district heating services.

Since January 1, distribution network operators in Germany have been legally obliged to set up and operate an Internet platform to automate and optimize customer communication, data management and the comprehensive exchange of information.

One of the objectives is to facilitate the injection of self-generated electricity by private individuals into the low-voltage grid.

This 'ready-to-use' software installed by Spie has also been used for the digital portal of Stadtwerke Passau, another electricity supplier, since December 2023.
