On August 17, 2018, Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary submitted a shareholder proposals to Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. requesting the Board of Directors issue a report by February 8, 2019, at reasonable expense and excluding proprietary information, on the Company’s activities related to gun safety measures and mitigation of harm associated with gun products, including the following: (1) evidence of monitoring of violent events associated with products produced by the company, (2) efforts underway to research and produce safer guns and gun products, and (3) assessment of the corporate reputational and financial risks related to gun violence in the U.S.
Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. is a manufacturer and designer of firearms. The Company manufactures a range of handguns (including revolvers and pistols), long guns (including modern sporting rifles, pistol caliber carbines, and lever action rifles), handcuffs, firearm suppressors, and other firearm-related products.
