- Readers get connected round the clock via new digital package which includes Zaobao Online, Zaobao Web App and Zaobao PDF version

Singapore, 13 January 2012 - Lianhe Zaobao, the Chinese flagship newspaper published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), launched a new digital package that includes Zaobao Online, Zaobao Web App and Zaobao PDF version. In addition, an All-in-One package including the new digital package and the print product itself is introduced.

Existing print subscribers need only pay $2 on top of their monthly subscription for the print version to upgrade to the all-in-one package to enjoy round the clock access to Zaobao via the three media platforms, namely, print, online and tablet. 

To sample this new offering, readers may access Zaobao Online, Zaobao WebApp and Zaobao PDF free of charge between now and 18 January 2012. Charging will begin on 19 January 2012. Subscription for Zaobao's print version is $22.65 a month whereas the good valued all-in-one package will cost $24.65. If preferred, the digital package which does not come with a print subscription will also retail at $24.65 a month. 

To subscribe to the Lianhe Zaobao all-in-one package or digital package or print, readers may go to or call 6388 3838 or 6319 1800. Readers may also fax a completed subscription form to the number 67441646. Subscription form can be found inside Lianhe Zaobao.

It will enable busy executives, businessmen, homemakers and young people to enjoy round the clock news services at home, at work and on the move." 

Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, said: "The new package will be able to cater to the different reading habits of readers in the new-media era. They can access Zaobao any time through a variety of platforms. A growing number of Singaporeans are now living and working overseas. They can use the e-package to read Zaobao in its original form." 

Zaobao Online 

When the subscription is introduced, local subscribers will be able to read the entire content while non-subscribers will have access to only limited news reports. 

Zaobao Web App 

This can be accessed by all tablets across different operating systems including Android and Apple IOS. Just open the browser, go to and click on "Add to homepage" and you are ready to access the Web App. 

The Web App provides real-time news, local news, China news, world news, Southeast Asia news, viewpoints, business and sports news as well as zbNOW. 

Since the launch of the free trial for the web application on Dec 28 last year, the response has been overwhelming with 40,000 users having downloaded the Zaobao WebApp. 

Zaobao PDF 

To access the PDF version online, readers may go to www.zaobao.com.sg, click on the display advertisement and start to enjoy reading the PDF version. iPad users may key in their user name and password in the App Store to search for and download  "Lianhe Zaobao PDF".

Whether it is via a computer or iPad, readers can access all pages on the day itself, and in the last seven days. This makes it easy for them to search for information or track developments of key events. 

Font size can be increased. Its news pages can also be enlarged up to four times of the print version for the benefit of those who prefer bigger characters and clearer pictures. Readers can choose to read a particular page first. iPad users can also select different sections such as local news, China news, world news and commentaries. 

Great Gold Rush with Lianhe Zaobao Subscription Drive 

Readers can subscribe to the Lianhe Zaobao All-in-One package as part of the "Great Gold Rush with Lianhe Zaobao" subscription drive, starting from 12 January to 26 February 2012.

The "Great Gold Rush with Lianhe Zaobao" subscription drive offers existing subscribers to the print and All-in-One package a chance to win one of five hundred limited edition 24K gold-plated Year of the Dragon medallions. There will be a subscription drive roadshow from Saturday to Wednesday, 14 -18 January, 10am to 10pm at the Central Atrium, Level 1 of Jurong Point, and the official launch event on Sunday, 15 January at the same venue from 11am to 1pm. 

To sign up, current subscribers who purchase their daily newspaper through their vendors will have to convert to being direct subscribers of SPH.
