Severfield has successfully maintained its Carbon Reduce Certification via the Achilles accreditation scheme.

This certification marks three consecutive years of our commitment to measuring and reducing carbon emissions with Achilles.

Our achievement is particularly noteworthy given our recent acquisition of Voortman Steel Construction Holding B.V. Since bringing Voortman onto our sustainability journey, we have worked over the course of the last 12 months to ensure we have collated the same level of quality and detailed data for Voortman's Scope 1, 2 and operational Scope 3 categories, as we have for the Severfield Group.

Our last audit meant we had Voortman's data fully verified as part of our scope. Although integrating Voortman's manufacturing facilities has initially increased our carbon footprint intensity, we have still met the requirements of the programme and continued to meet the stringent requirements of the Achilles Carbon Reduce Scheme over the past three years.

In the last year, we've continued to deliver our Net Zero Roadmap 2050, which focuses on the strategic priorities that we believe are suitable for the steel industry, the planet, and our Group. We have implemented numerous energy-efficient practices and invested in technologies to monitor and manage our carbon emissions effectively.

As part of the Science Based Targets verified commitment, aligned with the 1.5-degree pathway, we have a target of achieving net zero for Scope 1 & 2 by 2040, and Scope 3 by 2050.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to further reducing our carbon footprint and supporting our acquisitions on their journey, as we drive joint sustainable growth.

Thank you to all our stakeholders, partners, and employees who have supported us on this journey so far. Together, we have the power to make a meaningful impact on our environment and set a strong example for the industry.
