Sanofi has announced a €1.1 billion increase in investment in its major industrial projects in France, to create new biomanufacturing capacity at its sites in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val de Marne), Le Trait (Seine-Maritime) and Lyon Gerland (Rhône).

This new investment will create more than 500 jobs, and will significantly strengthen France's ability to control the end-to-end production of current and future essential medicines", stresses the healthcare giant.

In total, since the Covid-19 pandemic, Sanofi has deployed an investment plan worth more than 3.5 billion euros to "finance its major drug and vaccine production projects in France, for patients worldwide".
