Athens, May 9 2013. The Project YOU@S&B, which gives unemployed young people the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience through nine months of paid occupation at S&B Industrial Minerals, was presented today at a press conference by Chairman Ulysses Kyriacopoulos and CEO Kriton Anavlavis.

In his speech, Mr. Kyriacopoulos noted that the project constitutes S&B's contribution in tackling youth unemployment in Greece today. He highlighted that the project's main aim is to create long-term value for the Greek society, since the 25 young people, who will be employed in S&B, will acquire professional knowledge, skills and experience that will improve their employment prospects. He also underlined, that becoming familiar with modern entrepreneurship and being employed in positions that are commensurate with their qualifications, aims at empowering young people and enabling their development.

Mr. Anavlavis referred to the development of the project YOU@S&B in the context of S&B's Sustainable Development strategy, reminding that Social Contribution is one of the company's Values. He noted that the project YOU@S&B was designed and is being materialized based on transparency, meritocracy and professionalism. He pointed out that it is a program with high expectations that entails multiple benefits for all involved parties, from the participating young people to S&B's executives themselves.

YOU@S&B will offer 25 high school graduates, as well as higher education graduates with little or no professional experience, 9 months of employment in the following fields: Research & Development, Mining & Processing, Environmental Management, Machinery & Electric Equipment maintenance, Sales, Communications, Sustainable Development, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, Legal Services, Internal Audit and Secretarial support. Applications for the project will be effected through www.youatsandb.gr, where the selection process, as well as the project content, are explained in detail. The 25 young people who will ultimately be selected will start their 9-month work at S&B in September 2013.
