PT Nusantara Infrastructure (JKSE:META) is planning to bid on PT XL Axiata Tbk (JKSE:EXCL)'s telecommunication towers. XL Axiata announced in July 2014 that it will sell some of its telecommunication towers to pay off its debt. A report by the Wall Street Journal said that XL Axiata is offering up to 2,000 towers in a bid to raise around $500 billion.

Others planning to bid on the towers, include PT Solusi Tunas Pratama Tbk (JKSE:SUPR), PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (JKSE:TOWR), PT. Inti Bangun Sejahtera, Tbk (JKSE:IBST) and PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk (JKSE:TBIG). Ramdani Basri, President Director of Nusantara, said that the company has been seeking for a strategic opportunity to expand into the telecommunication tower businesses.

“As an infrastructure company, of course, we'd like to keep expanding if there's any offer from XL Axiata,” Ramdani said on July 17, 2014.
