Orlen S.A. has been granted location permits for five offshore wind farm projects, which opens the door to begin the initial phase for investment. The permits were issued by the Polish Minister of Infrastructure. The five new wind farms will have a capacity of approximately 5.2 GW that allows to produce a clean energy sufficient to supply over eight million households with energy, the release reads.

One of the wind farm is to be built together with the Canadian Orlen's partner, Northland Power. It is the most advanced offshore investment in Poland with a capacity of 1.2 GW. The production is expected to be launched in 2026.
