OSLO, June 1 (Reuters) - Budget carrier Norwegian Air and its pilots have reached a deal on a new collective agreement, preventing strike action, the airline said on Saturday.

Any strike action would have been a blow to the airline which is about to embark on the profitable summer season.

The unions had said any conflict could gradually have grown to comprise all 690 pilots employed by the company's unit in Norway.

Norwegian has around 1,300 pilots in total, according to company officials. Pilots employed by units outside its native Norway, including in Denmark and Spain, were not affected by the strike. (Reporting by Stine Jacobsen, editing by Terje Solsvik)
