Nissan Motor Co Ltd. announced the "Rogue Sport" crossover SUV (sport utility vehicle) at North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2017 January 9, 2017. For the new model of the Rogue, Nissan optimized the displacement of the current model's engine (right sizing). Also, the company reduced the size of the vehicle and made its appearance sportier. The new model will be released in the spring of 2017 in North America. The current model of the Rogue is equipped with a 2.5L in-line four-cylinder port-injection gasoline engine and a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Its maximum output and maximum torque are 127kW and 237N·m, respectively. On the other hand, the new model comes with a 2.0L in-line four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine and a CVT. The length, width, height and wheelbase are 267, 3, 97 and 58mm shorter than those of the current model. Still, Nissan hardly changed the width so that five adults do not feel cramped in the car.
