•  CINESA will run the videoconcept CINERGÍA and trailers for the 4 short films associated with this project, directed by Spanish directors Rodrigo Cortés, Jaume Balagueró, Juan Cruz and Paco Plaza.

GAS NATURAL FENOSA and CINESA have renewed their collaboration agreement for the 5th year and have agreed to promote the CINERGÍA initiative on 45 cinema screens sponsored by the energy company, under the name Gas Natural Fenosa Screens. The agreement, which involves extending the current number of sponsored cinema screens, means GAS NATURAL FENOSA will be in CINESA multiplexes in San Sebastián and Castellón for the first time.

As part of the agreement, CINESA will run one of the 4 trailers for CINERGÍA or the videoconcept for this innovative project before the main feature on the Gas Natural Fenosa Screens. With this initiative the company aims to raise awareness on energy efficiency with the public at large through cinema.

CINERGÍA: four stories about energy efficiency

Through CINERGÍA, GAS NATURAL FENOSA has taken the first steps in the film production sector, after selecting four acclaimed Spanish directors: Paco Plaza, Rodrigo Cortés, Jaume Balagueró and Juan Cruz; very popular with audiences, to direct four short films on energy efficiency and the products and services offered by the company. Three of the four short films have already premiered at major film festivals around the country.

The films tell stories from the fantasy and thriller genre while maintaining a sense of humour, starring some of the most famous actors from the silver screen in Spain, such as Terele Pávez, Jose Coronado, Fele Martínez and Maribel Verdú. Each tale relates to one aspect of energy efficiency: equipment maintenance, efficiency at home, efficiency at work and sustainable mobility.

"Ultravioleta", which premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival, is a classic horror short directed by Paco Plaza and starring Julián Villagrán and Maribel Verdú, about an art restorer who has to spend all night working to uncover a hidden painting, showing us some of the most common mistakes in how we use energy.

"1.58" is the title chosen by director Rodrigo Cortés, whose short film has the elements of a thriller and a horror, and which premiered at the Sitges Fantasy Film Festival, stars Manuela Vellés, with special appearances by Gabino Diego and the journalist Julia Otero and offers the viewer various tips for efficient driving, through the story of a girl driving carelessly at night, until a group of mysterious attackers causes her some serious problems.

Another of the shorts premiering at the Madrid Premiere Week was "Inquilinos", directed by Jaume Balagueró and starring Antonio de la Torre, Manuela Velasco and Fele Martínez, is about a young couple in their first home, who wonder why their flat is so cold, and decide to call a technician. What they don't know is that the former tenants had a lot to do with this situation.

Finally, Juan Cruz directed "Domonic", a futuristic short starring Terele Pávez and Jose Coronado, telling the story of Gastón, a bachelor trying to get over his mother's death, who sees how a high-tech smart home management system is taking control of his home. A story questioning the lack of conscience of energy efficiency which will premiere shortly.

Following the launch of the project, the energy company has updated its cinema webpage http://cine.gasnaturalfenosa.es) with all the news and updates on CINERGÍA, including the shorts as they are released. Furthermore, a number of promotions will be launched via its social media aimed at bringing the cinema to all audiences.
