CHICAGO (AP) _ Mondelez International Inc. (MDLZ) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $1.16 billion.

The Chicago-based company said it had profit of 80 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 67 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 67 cents per share.

The maker of Oreo cookies, Cadbury chocolate and Trident gum posted revenue of $7.3 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.17 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $3.56 billion, or $2.47 per share. Revenue was reported as $26.58 billion.

Mondelez shares have decreased slightly more than 2% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed nearly 1%. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $57.12, an increase of 4% in the last 12 months.
