The sixth edition of the Guide des Bonnes Petites Tables du guide MICHELIN 2012 showcases 124 new restaurants offering a three-course meal for less than €35 in Paris and €29 elsewhere in France

The Guide des Bonnes Petites Tables du guide MICHELIN France 2012 presents an exciting preview of all the restaurants that will display the Bib Gourmand label in the MICHELIN guide France 2012, whose selection will be announced on Monday, February 27.

Perhaps it's the economy or maybe our changing lifestyles, but eating well no longer necessarily means having to pay high prices. This underlying trend is being embraced by more and more chefs, of all ages and cuisines, as observed by MICHELIN Guide inspectors, who award these Bonnes Petites Tables their "favorites for good value" distinction. The latest edition of the France guide includes 630 of these sometimes relatively unknown restaurants, whose numbers are growing. Indeed, the selection has increased by 140% in six years, with 124 new addresses added in 2012 alone. These restaurants never fail to delight MICHELIN guide readers with their wide range of styles, from traditional terroir to trendy gastro-bistro, from ethnic adventure to extremely creative, but all with the same clear commitment to high quality and low price.

The Bib Gourmand label indicates a restaurant serving three-course meals offering good value for the money, i.e. for less than €35 in Paris and €29 elsewhere. Introduced in 1997 and symbolized by the = pictogram, the label takes its name from Bibendum, the character invented in 1898 by the Michelin brothers that has since evolved into the Michelin Man, the brand's ambassador.

The photo-illustrated guide is handily divided into 21 regions, with towns and cities listed in alphabetical order to facilitate searches. Each page presents two restaurants with a wide variety of practical information, such as contact details, style of cuisine, interior decor, typical specialties, amenities and useful services. A short commentary also describes the character of the cuisine and the restaurant's ambiance.
