Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd (Keppel T&T) has appointed Professor Neo Boon Siong (???) and Mr Michael Chia Hock Chye (???) to its Board of Directors with effect from 2 May 2012.

An independent non-executive director, Professor Neo was also appointed as chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Board Risk Committee. Mr Chia was appointed as a non-independent non-executive director and a member of the Board Risk Committee.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Teo Soon Hoe (???), Chairman of Keppel T&T, said, "Boon Siong and Michael together will bring to Keppel T&T a wealth of experience, which will help to strengthen the company's foundation and capabilities in capturing opportunities in the logistics and data centre markets."

Professor Neo is Chairman of the Nanyang Executive Education and former Dean of the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He taught at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in the National University of Singapore from 2006 to 2010, and is a Fellow of the Civil Service College and the Centre for Liveable Cities. He was the founder Director of the Information Management Research Centre (IMARC) in NTU and the Asia Competitiveness Institute in NUS. He currently serves as independent director on the board of directors of OCBC Bank and k1 Ventures Ltd.

Professor Neo is a Certified Public Accountant (Singapore) and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from the National University of Singapore, and MBA and PhD degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He completed executive programs at the Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School, and Cornell Hotel School.

Mr Chia is the Director (Group Strategy & Development) of Keppel Corporation Limited and the Managing Director (Offshore) of Keppel Offshore and Marine Ltd. Prior to this, he was the Executive Director of Keppel FELS Ltd from 2002 to 2009 with overall responsibility of the business management of the company. Mr Chia was also the Deputy Chairman of Keppel Integrated Engineering Limited (KIE). He has more than 25 years of management experience in corporate development, engineering, operations and commercial. He was elected as the President of the Association of Singapore Marine Industries from 2005 - 2009, a non-profit association formed in 1968 to promote the interests of the marine industry in Singapore.

Mr Chia is the Chairman of the Singapore Maritime Foundation, member of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Council, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Singapore, and American Bureau of Shipping - USA and Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is a Fellow with the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

Mr Chia holds directorships in several companies within the Keppel Group, including KIE, Keppel FELS Ltd, Keppel Shipyard Limited and Keppel Energy Pte Ltd. Mr Chia is a Colombo Plan scholar and holds a Bachelor in Science in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding (First Class Honours) from University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and a Masters in Business Administration from National University of Singapore.
