0625 GMT - Kakao Games Corp. is one of the most mentioned companies in the news over the past eight hours, according to Factiva data, after the company reported lackluster earnings. The games unit of Kakao Corp. said Wednesday that third-quarter net profit totaled 11.28 billion won ($8.0 million), down 75% on year as operating profit rose 2.3% to KRW43.73 billion. Third-quarter revenue fell 34% on year to KRW306.89 billion. Kakao Games cited weak sales of mobile titles including "Odin: Valhalla Rising" and "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby." The game maker said it is expecting a rebound next year, with plans to release titles including "Eversoul" in the first quarter of 2023 followed by other new titles.
