The operation will take place under the company's social responsibility program, Good Deeds are Good, which has already allocated R$ 400 million to fighting Covid-19 in Brazil

São Paulo, January 18, 2021 - JBS will fly 400 full cylinders of oxygen to Manaus (AM) this week. This is roughly equivalent to 4,000 m3 of oxygen, which will keep 40 patients on respirators uninterruptedly for around 10 days.

The make the delivery possible, the Company has chartered a Boeing 737-400 cargo plane that can accommodate up to 20 tons of cargo. The shipment should arrive in the Amazon at 2 pm (local time) on Tuesday. Once the supplies have been delivered, JBS will pick up empty cylinders in the Amazon capital so that they can be refilled in other states.

The funds for the operation will be provided by the JBS social responsibility program, Good Deeds are Good, which since the onset of the pandemic has allocated R$ 400 million to fighting Covid-19 in Brazil.

The program has already enabled the construction of two permanent hospitals as well as delivering 88 ambulances, 365 respirators, 1,479 multi-parameter monitors, 18 million PPE kits, 1,880 clinic and ICU beds, 1 million liters of hygiene and cleaning products and 560,000 food baskets. Also, 15 healthcare units have been refurbished and extended, in addition to support for 39 scientific and technological research initiatives into Covid-19.
