Chimei Innolux (CMI) (stock code: 3481) held the 22nd meeting of the 5th board of directors today. During the meeting, supervisors Jung-Chun Lin and Koung-Fu Soong and corporate director Ching-Sheng Lin representing Chimei Corporation (CMC) tendered their resignations, effective June 28th.

CMC indicated: "Although CMC has resigned its directorship from CMI's board of directors, the company will continue to support the executive management under the leadership of Chairman Hsing-Chien Tuan and will keep its promise to participate in capital increases. Taiwan's flat panel industry has attained a very important globally competitive position over the last ten plus years and has had a major impact on Taiwan's industrial and economic development. We look forward to continued support for CMI from all sectors."

CMI indicated: "Since the merger, CMI has undertaken a complicated integration and merging process. In addition to expressing our gratitude for the support of our customers, shareholders, employees, and so forth, we also thank CMC and its team for their continuous care and support in addressing the severe upheavals caused by the global economic downturn and changes in the flat panel industry." Chairman and CEO Hsing-Chien Tuan also stated that he will continue to lead the management team and maintain stable operations, with the goal of enhancing operational performance and creating maximum benefit for employees and shareholders through the combined synergies that are gradually materializing, and advancing the competitiveness of Taiwan's display industry.
