Iberdrola and Mapfre have reached an agreement whereby the insurance company's commercial network in Spain, made up of nearly 3,000 offices, will offer customized and 100% renewable energy company products.
This is the first alliance of its kind between an insurer and an energy company in the country.
The products initially included in the agreement are electricity and gas plans for individuals and SMEs - Planes a Tu Medida -, and value-added services such as Home Electrical Protection and the Gas Maintenance Pack, although it could be extended to other solutions in the future .
The agreement, which has been signed by Raul Costilla, MAPFRE IBERIA's commercial and business general manager, and Alfonso Calderon, Iberdrola's commercial manager in Spain, also provides for Iberdrola to make preferential support and service channels available to MAPFRE, both for the clients of the insurer and its commercial agents, in order to resolve doubts or incidents in the contracting process or later. Likewise, the MAPFRE network may prescribe Iberdrola's solutions for self-consumption and sustainable mobility, such as Smart Solar and Smart Mobility, respectively.
With the signing of this agreement, the collaboration between the two companies extends beyond the ties that united them until now: Iberdrola as MAPFRE's energy provider in Spain and a client of its corporate insurance program. In addition, MULTIMAP, a MAPFRE Group company, provides the boiler repair and maintenance services that Iberdrola offers to its customers. The agreement, with an initial duration of three years, is signed in principle at the national level, but both companies do not rule out expanding it to other markets where both groups operate.
For Iberdrola, the agreement reinforces the company's commercial strategy through a reference partner and diversifies its marketing channels for high-value-added products, such as Customized Plans, with which the client personalizes their services based on to their consumption habits and has a 100% renewable energy supply, helping to avoid CO 2 emissions into the atmosphere and maintenance services on a preferential basis. As well as the prescription of new solutions aligned with responsible consumption, related to self-consumption and sustainable mobility with green energy.

With this initiative, MAPFRE improves the offer of services to its clients, who will be able to access Iberdrola products easily and comfortably through the insurer's extensive network of offices, the widest in Spanish insurance.
