Company Appoints Adrian Thomas to Lead Commercial Organization

MONTREAL-Jan. 31, 2012-To further strengthen its sales operations across Canada, GE Energy's Industrial Solutions business (NYSE: GE) has appointed Adrian Thomas as the new regional sales leader for the country. Thomas will be responsible for driving sales of electrification products and services across Canada.

"We see tremendous opportunities to support the growth of Canada's infrastructure," said Dale Wilson, global sales leader for GE Energy's Industrial Solutions business. "We have a dedicated sales organization of 60 experienced professionals serving Canadian customers. Adrian will bring strong leadership to the team and help us better serve customers in this important market."

GE Energy supports customers in the mining and oil and gas industries with a strong portfolio of electrical distribution and motors products and services for both industrial and commercial applications.

Thomas and his team will contribute to the growth of the country's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, bringing to market innovative EV products like the GE WattStationTM Wall Mount, a fast, easy-to-use, award-winning EV charging station that delivers a charge in only four to eight hours.

"This is a great opportunity to bring innovative products to the Canadian market that support our customers' growth strategies and contribute to the country's development of its resource industries and clean energy objectives," Thomas said. "We look forward to bringing valuable solutions to our existing customers and forging relationships with new ones."

He began his career at GE Canada as a large motors designer in Peterborough, followed by a transition to a marketing role for GE Energy in Montreal that featured a combination of sales and commercial operations.

Later, Thomas held various positions with TMEIC, an industrial systems, drive and motor manufacturer, in Roanoke, Va., where he developed international sales experience covering growing markets in Taiwan, India and North America.
