GE announces that GE Vernova's Gas Power business has won an order from Australian energy company CS Energy for a dozen LM2500XPRESS aeroderivative gas turbines to power a new power station in the Western Downs region, west of Brisbane, Australia.

The new Brigalow Peaking power station is expected to provide up to 400 megawatts (MW) of energy supply, helping to guarantee and improve grid stability.

The plant is scheduled to be operational from 2026, and will supply the equivalent electricity consumed by an average of over 150,000 Queensland households during peak periods.
