Notice of Change of President and Representative Director

Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Furukawa Electric") announces that a meeting of the board of directors held today resolved to change president and representative directors. Details are as follows.

1. Reason of the change

Furukawa Electric is currently executing the 2022-2025Medium-term Management Plan "Road to Vision 2030 -Transform and Challenge-" centered on "Maximize profits in existing businesses through a focus on capital efficiency," "Build a foundation for creating new businesses by strengthening the development and proposal capabilities" and "Strengthen the foundation for ESG management" directed at achieving the Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030. Under a new executive management, we will aim to advance the group to the next growth stage through steady execution of the plan based on the management foundation developed to date in the business fields and acceleration of the group's transformation and challenges directed at creating change.

Concerning the selection of the president, a resolution was passed at today's Board of Directors Meeting based on the deliberations and report from the Nominating / Compensation Committee chaired by an outside director and made up of a majority of outside directors.
