FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Passengers and guests at Frankfurt Airport will be able to charge their e-cars in a new fast-charging park from the fall. The public facility in Cargocity South at Gate 32 of the airport is scheduled to go into operation in October. In the final expansion stage, 22 fast-charging points are planned for external users, as airport operator Fraport announced on Friday. The service is aimed at passengers and guests of the airport, employees and companies within Airport City as well as travelers passing through on the A3 and A5 freeways.

The charging stations supply e-cars with an output of up to 300 kilowatts each. Suitable parking spaces are also planned for delivery vans and cars with trailers. The facility is being set up in collaboration with the provider of charging solutions for electric vehicles, Allego./mar/DP/stw
