• Ferrovial Services, through subsidiary FBSerwis, has completed the acquisition of Amest Kamiensk, one of Poland's most advanced waste treatment plants.
  • The company acquired the Pro Eko Natura plant in Lower Silesia early in 2015.
  • With this second acquisition, Ferrovial Services enhances its waste treatment business in Poland.

Ferrovial Services, through FBSerwis, a Polish joint venture with Budimex, has completed the acquisition of 80% of Amest Kamiensk, the company that owns the waste treatment plant, located in Ruszczyn, in central Poland.

This plant for the mechanical-biological treatment of municipal waste came into service in the first half of 2015 and is the most modern installation of its type in the province of Łódź. It can process 100,000 tons of waste per year and has a line for producing solid refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and a landfill.

This acquisition follows that of Pro Eko Natura early last year. The latter owns a waste treatment plant and a landfill site in the province of Lower Silesia, which has enhanced FBSerwis' position in the municipal waste collection and treatment business. The plant can process 90,000 tons per year and has a municipal waste landfill. It is ranked as a Regional Treatment Centre.

These two acquisitions strengthen Ferrovial Services' position in Central and South-west Poland, specifically around Łódź, a strategic city for the company. In addition to waste collection and treatment, FBSerwis maintains over 800 kilometres of highways and motorways, and maintains 1 million square metres of commercial and industrial buildings.
