Eni buys nearly 5 million of its own shares

(Alliance News) - Eni Spa announced Wednesday that it purchased 4.6 million of its own shares between Jan. 2 and Jan. 5.

The shares were purchased at a weighted average price of EUR15.5138 for a total value of EUR72.0 million.

As a result of these purchases, Eni holds 161.8 million treasury shares or about 4.8 percent of the share capital.

Eni's stock is in the red by 0.2 percent at EUR14.90 per share.
