Renaud Muselier, President of Regions of France, and Thierry Found, Director General of GRTgaz, have signed a partnership agreement which strengthens collaboration with the institution representing the French regions.

'We are delighted to renew this partnership around concrete areas of cooperation such as the development of renewable gases, sustainable mobility, the preservation of biodiversity and to engage the gas industry in the service of regional policies ', underlines Thierry Find.

Partners since 2016, Regions de France and GRTgaz signed on January 7 a new partnership agreement for a period of 3 years in which they agree to collaborate on the following areas of cooperation: gas and the gas industry at the service of regional policies: energy, environment, mobility, economic development, innovation, research and development, sectors and capitalizing on experiences in these different areas; the development of renewable gases: the recovery of waste in the form of renewable gases (anaerobic digestion, pyrogasification, hydrothermal gasification, etc.), the role of gas infrastructures in the development of hydrogen projects; gas market data and trends for the development, implementation and evaluation of regional plans, in particular the SRADDET (regional planning, sustainable development and territorial equality plans) and SRCAE ( regional climate air energy schemes), as well as PRPGD (regional waste prevention and management plans), regional biomass schemes, and SRDEII (regional schemes for economic development, innovation and internationalization), particularly on aspects of ' support for industry and innovation; sustainable mobility and the development of NGV-bioGNV fueling infrastructures; biodiversity conservation policies (green networks, regional ecological coherence schemes, regional biodiversity agencies, regional natural parks, etc.); apprenticeship, professional training and support towards employment: through their skills, the Regions are at the heart of the match between job needs and offers; raising awareness among regional elected officials of the benefits of territorial dialogue with GRTgaz, in particular through the proper identification of its territorial delegates.

Working groups and hearings may, as such and as necessary, be set up, in particular on: sustainable mobility, networking and sizing of alternative fuel stations (CNG and bioNGV); waste; renewable gases and the link between SRADDET and SRCAE, and PRPGD; the biodiversity.

The support, co-management and participation of GRTgaz in one or more specific regions of France actions (publication, seminar, study, etc.) are also envisaged in this partnership.
