The subsidiary informed that it acquired Granja Solar photovoltaic farm, the electric substation and the 23.4 kilometers electric transmission line that connects this plant to the National Electric System. This, as part of the insolvency proceedings for the liquidation of Unidad Económica María Elena Solar S.A. in the municipality of Pozo Almonte, Tarapacá Region.

The plant, which has a generation capacity of 123 MWp, involves an investment of US$ 91 million and is in line with Copec's strategy of offering its customers a portfolio of energy services to meet their needs and accompany them efficiently in the energy transition.

Copec's general manager, Arturo Natho, explained that "the decision to invest in Granja Solar has to do with delivering a comprehensive 360-degree offering; a portfolio that includes everything from the generation and marketing of green energy to energy efficiency and storage services in the industrial and residential segments."
