Today, Friday, January 15th, 2016, Elia is launching a formal public consultation of the market players on its proposals for a limited number of changes to the ARP contract. The consultation will run from January 15th to January 29th, 2016 (6 p.m.).

The ARP contract sets out the rights and obligations of Elia and the Access Responsible Party (ARP) with regard to maintaining balance on the grid. Access Responsible Parties are direct consumers, suppliers, generators and traders.

The proposed changes to the ARP contract are a consequence of the need for a new intraday capacity allocation method on the France-Belgium and Netherlands-Belgium interconnections, the so-called 'Intraday Quick Wins'. The consultation period is quite short since the changes are purely technical in nature and since the aim is to introduce the Intraday Quick Wins as soon as possible.
