Stocks in Toronto regained some ground Wednesday at midday after news of a higher-than-expected inflation rate prompted a selloff on Tuesday. Most sectors were in the green mid-trading, with health technology the main gainer, followed by materials and tech. Energy was the only sector posting declines.

Canada's S&P/TSX Composite Index rose by 0.38% to 20296.27, and the blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 was 0.37% higher at 1217.97.

Comet Lithium shares were 13% higher at 43 Canadian cents (32 cents) after the company said it is seeking permits to begin drilling on its property in the James Bay region of Quebec. The company has found favorable pegmatite and structural features grouped together on the Liberty property and has been the source for determining its inaugural drill program.
