(Alliance News) - Comal Spa announced on Monday that it has been awarded the "Next Appennino | Measure B1.2 - B3.3" tender for the construction of an industrial plant for the production of innovative and high-efficiency photovoltaic modules in L'Aquila Province.

The total investment amounts to EUR16.1 million, of which EUR6.9 million in subsidized financing, EUR4.9 million in plant account contribution, EUR200,000 in direct contributions and EUR4.1 million in bank financing, requested directly by Comal through an already identified financial partner.

Alfredo Balletti, managing director of Comal, commented, "This important project is a confirmation of our company evolution strategy, moving from pure EPC - Engineering, Procurement, Construction - to a 360° player in the photovoltaic sector, allowing Comal to be one of the few operators at European level fully integrated along the solar power generation value chain. The project is 100 percent "Made in Italy" and will be able to help increase our country's energy capacity and reduce the dependence of supplies of these important elements on foreign countries."

Comal closed Friday in the green by 0.9 percent to EUR3.57 per share.
