7Layers acquisition accelerates Bureau Veritas' development in testing and certification of wireless and mobile technology Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, January 04, 2013 - Bureau Veritas has completed the acquisition of

7Layers, a specialist in mobile and wireless electronics testing and certification, headquartered in
Germany.
This acquisition positions Bureau Veritas as a global leader in wireless testing, doubling its footprint in a fast growing market. 7Layers' expertise and global coverage complements Bureau Veritas' existing presence within global brands and their supply chains. The wireless testing market will continue to experience significant growth, especially with continued innovation in the Machine to Machine (M2M) and telecommunications sectors.
Since its foundation in 1999, 7Layers has been offering integrated solutions to mobile device manufacturers, suppliers of electronics parts and telecommunication network operators. The company provides testing services to assess security, reliability, functionality and interoperability of a wide range of mobile devices as well as certification services.
Based in Ratingen, Germany, 7Layers employs 220 highly qualified employees and has engineering centers and accredited laboratories in Germany, China, South Korea, and the United States as well as representations in Japan, Taiwan and South Europe. Its 2012 revenue is estimated at €24 million.
